The NUBAC Disc Arthroplasty System is designed for patients with low back pain due to degenerative disc disease (DDD), with or without herniation. NUBAC is intended to maintain the natural motion and height of the disc, reduce surgery and recovery time, yet leaving all further surgical options open (‘non-bridge burning’).

The procedure aims to be tissue preserving and less invasive than alternative surgical treatments, like Total Disc Arthroplasty (TDA) and fusion. The NUBAC can be implanted with different approaches and has been implanted successfully via posterior, lateral (ALPA) and retroperitoneal antero-lateral approach.
